Age UK Cheshire East
Age UK Cheshire East, founded in 1988, is a local charity supporting people over 50 years of age, their families and carers through the provision of high quality practical and emotional support. Age UK support over 11,000 older people per annum with the help of over 150 active volunteers.
Age UK’s mission is to improve the later life for vulnerable, isolated older people in the community, offering advice, information, advocacy, friendship, practical support and activities to support health and wellbeing and continued independence.
Their vision is a country where older people flourish. They believe that poverty; isolation and loneliness, poor services, inadequate care and support, discrimination and a lack of respect are unacceptable.
In a country with a rapidly ageing population, Age UK Cheshire East’s vital work is more important now than it’s ever been. The Cheshire East borough has the fastest growing ageing population in the North West; by 2033 more than 45% of the population will be over 50 years of age.
