Today we launched a major campaign to raise £1 million to provide vital support to charities helping vulnerable people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Working in partnership with the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire David Briggs MBE, the new High Sheriff of Cheshire Nick Hopkinson MBE, DL and in collaboration with the Steve Morgan Foundation, the appeal has the potential to reach £2 million, as some match funding will be available by the Steve Morgan Foundation.

With a generous launch donation of £50,000 from David Briggs, Nick Hopkinson and the outgoing High Sheriff of Cheshire Mark Mitchell, which will be matched by the Steve Morgan Foundation to make a total of £100,000, the appeal is off to a flying start.

The appeal launch represents a huge boost just a week after we announced the setting up our Covid-19 Response Fund. We will be responsible for managing the fund, using our grant making expertise to ensure that the proceeds reach the organisations that most need them.

Charities seeking funding can apply via Cheshire Community Foundation’s website, with grants of up to £10,000 available in the first instance, with additional further funding a possibility  should the need arise.

If you would like to support the appeal by making an online donation of up to £500, click here, or for larger donations please email or call 01606 330 607.
