Are you involved in a community group, village school or parish council based in the South West Peak and have an idea for a local project? If so, there is a free workshop taking place this month which will help you to get started or progress your project.

The workshop, “Developing Your Community Project” is being held on Thursday 27th September 2018 from 9.45am to 2.30pm at Warslow Village Hall. It will be an informative and interactive workshop giving details of key funding sources, tips on how to write successful funding applications, and a great chance to share ideas with, and learn from, other local community groups, with lunch provided too! You will find out more about the South West Peak Community Grants Scheme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund through the South West Peak Landscape Partnership. This can provide grants of between £500 and £10,000 for a variety of projects that can contribute to enhancing, protecting or celebrating the natural or cultural heritage of the South West Peak. Local groups are already benefitting from this grant scheme with the Tudor Farming Interpretation Group being one of the first to get a grant earlier this year to produce a book about the fascinating graveyard in Sheen.

The workshop is free and open to individuals, community groups, schools, parish councils and church groups that want to develop a community project in the South West Peak. To find out more about the South West Peak and the area it covers please check out our website
