Supporting Crewe’s Communities: Businesses give £37,000 in Lifeline Grants to Local Charities

Cheshire Community Foundation is proud to announce the recent grants awarded to local charities in Crewe, addressing crucial needs such as isolation, mental health challenges, homelessness, and addiction. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, these charities can kick-start their innovative projects and make a real difference in the community.

The Crewe Fund has been operating since 2021 and benefits from the generosity of the following businesses:

Bentley Motors has demonstrated its strong commitment to sustainability through its Beyond100 strategy, aiming to become a global leader in sustainable luxury mobility. From reducing energy consumption to supporting biodiversity with their “Flying Bees” initiative at the Crewe factory, Bentley has made significant progress towards a carbon-neutral future. Bentley were a founding donor to Cheshire Community Foundation in 20212 and have donated over £900,000 to date.

Boughey Distribution, recently awarded B-Corp status, is a local business that is embedding sustainability at the core of its operations. Boughey has shown dedication to maintaining high environmental and social standards, further demonstrating their commitment to the well-being of the Crewe community.

Guinness Partnership, one of the UK’s largest providers of affordable housing, is committed to building not just homes but communities. Through initiatives like the Aspire Awards, they support projects that foster community spirit and improve the quality of life for their residents, making Crewe a better place to live​. By giving to the Crewe Fund, they are furthering that commitment to building a thriving community, extending their reach beyond their own residents.

Reliance Medical is a leading supplier of first aid products, dedicated to improving workplace safety and health across the UK. Their commitment to community health and well-being aligns with their mission of providing essential products that support emergency care and first aid in homes, businesses, and public spaces. Through partnering with Cheshire Community Foundation they can contribute to the wider health of the community.

Baywater Healthcare, headquartered in Crewe, specializes in home healthcare services, including respiratory care. They provide vital equipment and support for patients with long-term health conditions, helping individuals live independently in their homes. Their work plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable people in the community. The alignment with the Crewe fund brings those values to life through grants that support the town’s vulnerable people affected by health inequalities.

The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust, a philanthropic organisation, supports a wide range of charitable causes, focusing on health, welfare, and environmental sustainability. Their generosity has helped countless organizations address urgent social needs, from addiction recovery to homelessness, further amplifying their impact in communities like Crewe. Our partnership with the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust goes beyond their donations to the Crewe Fund; we are also colleagues, jointly funding many local projects, as well as sharing information, research and helping each other to fund solutions to local problems.

Swansway Garages, a family-owned car dealership group, is deeply committed to giving back to the local community.
