Cheshire Community Foundation Unveils Ambitious Cheshire 2030 Strategy

Cheshire Community Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its comprehensive “Cheshire 2030” strategy. This forward-looking plan lays the foundation for a more inclusive, resilient, and flourishing Cheshire and Warrington. Designed with input from key stakeholders and community partners, the strategy focuses on local action that will drive lasting impact over the coming decade.

As we continue our mission to build a Cheshire where everyone can thrive, our 2030 strategy centres around inclusivity, innovation, and strategic partnerships. With an emphasis on supporting local initiatives, promoting sustainable development, and fostering community resilience, Cheshire Community Foundation aims to address pressing social and environmental challenges.

Howard Platt, Chair of the Board of Trustees, expressed his enthusiasm for the new strategy, stating, “By supporting local initiatives, fostering community resilience, and promoting sustainable development, we aim to create a flourishing environment where everyone can succeed.” CEO Melanie Sproston echoed this sentiment, highlighting Cheshire Community Foundation’s commitment to building upon its strong foundation: “Our strategy builds upon that foundation to address emerging challenges, leverage new opportunities, and ensure that our collective local action has a lasting and transformative impact.”

Key Highlights of the Cheshire 2030 Strategy:

  • Ten Strategic Priorities: The strategy identifies ten key areas of focus to drive our vision for a more equitable Cheshire, including endowment growth, grant-awarding excellence, and enhanced partnerships and collaboration.
  • Inclusivity and Accessibility: We are committed to broadening our donor base and developing strategic partnerships to empower diverse communities across Cheshire and Warrington.
  • Support for Grassroots Initiatives: Cheshire Community Foundation will continue to invest in local projects that promote mental health, education, and environmental awareness while tackling poverty and disadvantage.
  • Enhanced Grant Systems: Plans are underway to create a more accessible and robust grant system, offering multi-year grants and support for core running costs to ensure the sustainability of the voluntary sector.
  • Impact Measurement: Improved measurement tools will help demonstrate the value of initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability for donors, partners, and grant recipients.

We invite our stakeholders and colleagues in the voluntary sector to engage with this new vision. Together, we can build a more resilient and inclusive Cheshire and Warrington for future generations.
