Margaret Cheshire and Debbie Smith of Cheshire Community Foundation
The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust has made an incredible commitment to the future of Cheshire and Warrington through a multi-year donation to our core costs here at Cheshire Community Foundation.
The JHR Trust has previously generously supported the Community Foundation’s core costs as well as the Crewe Fund, a group fund established to support the charity sector in Crewe to meet the town’s complex needs.
Today the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust confirms a donation of £25,000 this year and every year, for the next five years. This contributes to a sustainable future for us at the Community Foundation, ourselves a registered charity. We keep costs as low as possible by, for example, securing pro-bono support and sponsorship for any events.
By supporting their local community foundation the JHR Trust are helping to build a Cheshire and Warrington where everyone can thrive. Our grants programmes target specific community needs, make strategic interventions for broader impact, and address urgent challenges like the cost-of-living crisis. With over £14 million in grants distributed since 2012, our commitment to the community is evident in every project and partnership.
Our partnership with the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust goes beyond their donations to our funds and core costs. We are also colleagues, jointly funding many local projects, as well as sharing information, research and helping each other to fund solutions to local problems.
We are tremendously grateful to the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust for this generous gift to the community; by choosing to give to (and through) their local community foundation, this donation is both innovative and responsible. We look forward to the fruitful years of partnership ahead.
