Our ambitious 2030 vision aims to significantly grow our income and increase the value of grants distributed to local charities, supporting more people living in disadvantage across Cheshire and Warrington. To achieve this, we are investing in a new role: Head of Fund Development.
About the Role
The Head of Fund Development will be responsible for driving income generation and building long-term relationships to secure new donations to Cheshire Community Foundation’s Funds. This role is crucial in helping us achieve our 2030 vision by growing our funding and increasing grant distributions.
As part of the Senior Management Team, you will lead the fund development team, contributing to strategy development, and preparing for changes and opportunities in philanthropic giving. You will work collaboratively to provide outstanding customer service to donors, partners, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Income Growth: Identify and implement plans for new income streams and develop relationships with donors, businesses, trusts, and advisors.
- Strategic Planning: Support the CEO in developing and delivering income strategies, including unlocking dormant trusts and engaging high-net-worth individuals.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the fund development team, managing and supporting them to achieve objectives.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and manage relationships with potential donors to inspire philanthropic giving, including legacy pledges.
- Event Representation: Represent and support CCF at events to enhance the organisation’s profile and reputation.
- Referral Network Development: Build and develop our referral network by engaging key local influencers and professional advisors.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records and optimize the use of our CRM database in line with Data Protection Regulations.
About You
We are looking for a passionate and driven individual with a proven track record in fundraising or income generation. You will excel in building and maintaining high-value relationships and have a strong understanding of philanthropic fundraising strategies. Your outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills will help you secure the confidence of donors and funders quickly.
You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to work across sectors, and a team player who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Strong IT, administrative, and organizational skills are essential, along with experience in developing marketing and social media content.

Relationship Manager

Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and motivated Relationship Manager to join our dynamic team. This role involves donor stewardship, fundraising, grant-making, and grant management. You will inspire philanthropic giving, manage partnerships, and ensure the effective distribution of grants to support local charities.

Additional Information: You will be part of a small, dynamic team, working flexibly from our South Warrington office and from home. Some travel around the county may be required. The role is ideally full-time but flexible arrangements (around four days per week) can be considered.
