The Lapland Foundation, founded by the Lapland Group, the UK’s most beloved Christmas experience, continues its heartfelt mission of supporting vulnerable children across the UK this week, distributing 3,000 Christmas stockings to children in need across hospices surrounding Manchester and Ascot.
On Thursday 27th November 2025, The Lapland Foundation distributed 3,000 Christmas stockings, its reach including three hospitals and eight hospices local to Manchester and Ascot, benefiting over a thousand children.
The Foundation also collaborated with three community foundations - Cheshire Community Foundation, Berkshire Community Foundation, and the Community Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside - to allocate further stockings to local charities.
Soft toys were also donated to Macclesfield schools for nursery and infant-aged children, and the Lapland Foundation will be funding 37 Christmas parties this year, bringing festive joy to hundreds of children and their families in need.
Founded to help aid Father Christmas with his mission in reaching children experiencing challenges at Christmas time to ensure that children facing the festive period in hospital don’t miss out on the magic, the Lapland Foundation provides relief for children affected by ill-health, disabilities, financial hardship, bereavement, and other significant challenges, the Lapland Foundation has already made a meaningful impact since its creation.
Since 2007, LaplandUK has created magical Christmas experiences for thousands of families. Inspired by the joy these moments brought, founders Mike and Alison Battle established The Lapland Foundation to extend this spirit beyond the immersive theatre experience, delivering festive cheer and support to children facing hardship.
The Foundation’s efforts reached hundreds of beneficiaries through local charities, supporting children facing a variety of challenges. These included children living in poverty or financial insecurity, those experiencing difficult family circumstances such as care settings, single-parent households, or bereavement, as well as children living with illness, disability, or special needs, and those at risk of social exclusion or marginalisation.
