In just five months, Toby has taken his passion for storytelling and turned it into a fast-growing freelance business: TBY Visuals. A talented and ambitious videographer, Toby made the bold decision to transition into full-time self-employment—and thanks to a £1,500 grant from the SWEF Enterprise Fund, administered by Cheshire Community Foundation, he’s now seeing that vision come to life.
Drawing on four years of experience as a content and social media executive, Toby launched TBY Visuals with the goal of creating cinematic, client-focused video content. He invested over £7,000 of his own money into launching the business—reflecting his deep commitment to quality and success.
The SWEF grant helped him take the next big step: purchasing a high-performance lens that has significantly improved the scope and visual quality of his work.
This investment has opened up new creative opportunities, expanded his portfolio, and helped him stand out in a highly competitive market. Toby’s growth strategy is as creative as his work—he actively reaches out to small businesses and local venues to offer his services, building relationships and trust one project at a time. From promotional videos to commercial and artistic projects, he aims to diversify his client base and cement TBY Visuals as a go-to provider of bespoke visual content.
