We’re delighted to announce that Zoe Sheppard DL has been appointed Patron of Cheshire Community Foundation in honour of a decade of exceptional service, both in her role as Chief Executive Officer and as Trustee. Zoe has been instrumental in the Foundation’s success, building relationships and strategic direction, inspiring the team, introducing donors and achieving a lasting impact to meet local need. During her tenure as CEO, we awarded over £12.5 million in grants to projects that helped over 900,000 people across Cheshire and Warrington.
“It has been an absolute privilege to have been involved in this extraordinary organisation” says Zoe. “I have many wonderful memories of working with our dedicated staff team, our generous donors and amazing local charities on projects that have transformed lives.”
Zoe joins David Briggs, former Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, as Patron, both dedicated ambassadors for Cheshire Community Foundation.
We say farewell to Sarah Callander-Beckett DL, who has completed eight years as a Trustee. During her time on the Board, Sarah has provided invaluable advocacy and guidance on the Foundation’s marketing and communications development. Sarah, who served as High Sheriff of Cheshire in 2017-18 and is owner of the Combermere Abbey Estate, has brought extensive experience from both the commercial and charitable sectors.
Chair of Trustees, Nicky Owen says: "We are deeply grateful to both Zoe and Sarah for their tremendous commitment and dedication to our work. While we will miss their presence on the Board, we are delighted that Zoe will remain connected to the foundation as a Patron.”
The Foundation also welcomes new Trustees to the Board, bringing a range of exceptional skills and experience: Andy Pear DL, Simon Williams and Emily Mathew.
A long-time supporter of CCF and successful entrepreneur, Andy is also Vice Chair of The Learning Partnership and Chair of Ruby's Fund. Simon Williams is a corporate and commercial lawyer with Gunner Cooke. In addition to his legal expertise, he is an experienced Non-Executive Director.
Emily is our newest recruit. She is Head of Stakeholder Engagement at the North West Business Leadership Team, where she works closely with business and political leaders to drive collaboration on key regional priorities.
“We are delighted to have found such talented people to join our Board”, says Nicky. “They bring fresh perspectives and add further knowledge and experience to help guide and support the Foundation’s work”
